About this course

This course walks through the application of the sequential test, and when necessary the exception test, for plan making. This training has been developed to help planners understand the purpose, application and appropriate use of the sequential and exception tests to inform development plan policies and site allocations. It is relevant to the preparation of local plans as well as neighbourhood plans and spatial development strategies. We estimate this course will take around 1h15min to complete. The course is designed so you can save progress and come back to complete later.
